Punctus Contra Punctus is a contrapuntal work of intermediate standard for brass quartet revolving around a cantus firmus, which begins in baroque fashion of starting the CF in the bass line.
Composed by Mike Lyons and scored with brass band instruments in mind, Punctus Contra Punctus is scored for Bb Cornet, En Tenor Horn, Trombone (TC) and Eb Bass, but replacement French Horn, Trombone (BC) and C Tuba parts are supplied for traditional brass quartet groups.
