Comprising of 6 short movements, Celestial Cookbook is a work for brass quartet that will suit outfits of an advanced standard. Between the outer 2 movements, the 4 remaining movements feature each instrument as a solo.
Described as a cosmic song cycle by the composer, Celestial Cookbook is comprised of the following short movements (each one lasting approximately one minute in length:
I - The Uncertainty Principle (ensemble)
II - Einstein-Rosen Bridge (cornet solo)
III - Simulation Theory (horn solo)
IV - Gravitational Waves (baritone solo)
V - String Theory (euphonium solo)
VI - The Drake Equation (ensemble)
Celestial Cookbook was chosen as a finalist in the A4 Brass Quartet Composition Competition 2018.
