Tidings! is a new arrangement of the popular God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen. Modern and slick in its approach but recognisable in form, the brass band sound is funky and powerful.
Dating back to the 16th century, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen is a tarditional English Christmas carol. It is sometimes known as Tidings of Comfort and Joy. The earliest printed edition is from 1760. Charles Dickens makes reference to this carol in his 1843 novel 'A Christmas Carol.'
Various versions have been released including ones by Garth Brooks, the cast of Glee and Pentatonix.
