Dance to your Daddy is a well-known traditional tune from Northumbria. This brass band arrangement is joyous, full of energy and is not overly-complicated.
For best effect, you will need a percussion section, although 1 drummer or percussionist will be fine.
Also known as When The Boat Comes In, Dance to your Daddy's early source of its lyrics came from Songs of the Bards of the Tyne by Joseph Robson, which is a collection of over 270 song lyrics published in 1850. However, it has also been stated that the lyrics were written in 1826 by William Watson. The song has been used many times, including as the theme tune for BBC programme When The Boat Comes In from the 1970s and for a Young's Seafood TV advert.
