Calon Lan was first made popular in the brass band world by the Childs brothers as a Euphonium duet.
In this different arrangement from 2003 by James McFadyen, has scored this hymn for brass band in quite a new way, in particular, there is a section of 4-part harmony scored on four basses. Harmonically and stylistically conventional, and although not an easy arrangement, it is quite effective, especially for more traditional ears.
