Apocalyptic Sapphire was written in 2016 for a music workshop in Sale, Cheshire. It is a fanfare that opens with an inverted pedal (a long high note!) with epic block chords slammed underneath. The piece continues in a quasi retro style that has plenty of harmonic and melodic energy.
A cracking piece to open a concert or finish the first half of a set.
