Riu, Riu, Chiu is a renaissance villancico, and is attributed by some sources to Mateo Flecha the Elder, who died in 1553; it has also been described as anonymous. The work has become a standard in the choral repertoire for the Christmas season. After hearing this work countless times by many vocal groups, the arranger transformed this glorious composition from voice into brass.
