Steve Herbert
Steve Herbert started his musical journey from a young age, when he was taught to play the cornet by his grandfather. He played in Sherborne Town Band from age 8, until he joined the Royal Marines Band Service in 1975. During his time in the Royal Marines Band Service Steve was fortunate to travel around the world performing at many famous places, including Washington DC, Toronto, Caribbean, plus numerous visits to the Mediterranean and closer to home. Steve also appeared on BBC Pebble Mill At One with The Nolan Sisters.
After leaving The Royal Marines, Steve joined The Territorial Army Band, based in Exeter, as a French Horn player, where he served for 18 years and rose to the rank of Band Colour Sergeant. Since settling back in Devon, Steve spends his time playing in bands, brass quintet, pit orchestras for shows and composing and arranging music.
