Michael Gill

Michael Gill was born in 1954 and grew up in Auburn, Alabama in the USA. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Music Education in 1977, received a Masters Degree in Percussion Performance from East Carolina University in North Carolina and the Doctor of Musical Arts in Percussion Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

He has taught at all levels of music education, from K-12 music, High School band to University and College Band Programmes. He arranged many pieces for his bands and began composing original compositions in earnest upon his retirement. He studied with Johnnie Vinson while an undergraduate student at Auburn University and now composes and arranges music that is being performed by the Jackson Municipal Band in Jackson, Missouri. He resides in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
